We had been talking the last few days, how we have had our DLP tv for nearly 3 years now. That the lamp was doing really well, becuase they say once it starts to go you notice the color isn't as bright. We hadn't experienced any of that, anyway we are watching it last night, then bang & the picture went!! We still had sound & a red light was on the tv.
I got the book out, it said that you will get a warning message on the tv every few minutes before the lamp goes, our TV obviously never knew that as it just went!! Luckily we have an extended warranty, so will be calling them out today to replace it! I have to have it ready for the end of September, when all my new programs restart!

Glad you have a warranty!
Wouldn't you know it, the warranty doesn't cover the lamp!! Hubby has ordered one $300 & will fit it himself.
