The new me!

I had such a migraine this morning, that when I cam back & saw the picture I took before I left for the hairdressers, i cringed!! I look so bad in this picture!

This is the new me!! I love the cut & she cut it jagged at the back which I love as well. I must admit the long hair wasn't doing anything for me!! I feel a new woman now!

Time for a change!

Keith has never know what he is going to come home to when I change my hairstyle!!! He is always very good about it & has liked everything I have ever done. My hairdresser who I have been going to now for 12 years loves to "play" with my hair! We even talked Keith into having his hair highlighted 8 years ago & he still has it done even now!

I always give her a free rein wether it be color or cut. That's why she likes to do my hair, I have always been up for anything!!! I have had it permed, long, short, layered, you name it I have probably done it!! It has been the style it is now for a few years & the other day I thought I am ready to take the plunge & change it again!!! I got looking on the internet at styles & found one I like, but before I show you that I want to take you on a trip to show just a couple of my styles!!!!

This picture is from 1980 not only was my hair permed, but at that time men had their hair permed too & Keith's was just growing out.

This next picture is from 2001, it was very short then & had been fo quite a while, Keith had his highlights in this one too!!

This last picture is from 2005 & this was before I had it cut to the style it has been in up to now. I must admit I did like it long, my hair is very thick, if I had to blow dry it, it would take me ages!!

Now to the picture I am going to take with me Thursday, this is the style I am going for this time.

Will have to see how it turns out, I am definately ready for the change!

Before & After

Over the last few weeks I have been decorating the two guest bedrooms. I brought too much paint & decided to do them both the same color. It's called Hazel & it's a lovely green color.

The first room I forgot to take before pictures, these are just the after pictures.

This is the other room with before pictures.

In the after pictures I saw the bedding on an advert for Walmart. It is from Better Homes & Gardens & thought it would look so nice in the room.

I HATE Cockroaches!!!

These to me are like spiders, I totally hate them!! Recently I noticed one when I went into the garage late at night. It scurried under the shelving unit in the garage. I didn't see it for a few days, then there it was again, only this time it was bigger. Now I new I had to do something about this creature!!!

A couple of nights later I saw it by the wheel of the car, I got the bug spray & sprayed all round the floor. I didn't see it run anywhere so thought I had it. Got the car out next day, hoping to see a squished cockroach on the floor, no such luck.

Friday night the car was out on the driveway, I waa going to pick Keith up from the airport & had left it out. I put the garage light on, there at the other end of the garage was the cockroach. Now if you have ever seen the Orkin advert where the cockroach rings the doorbell holding the pizza, well this is how big this thing was now!!!!

Okay so I am exaggerating a little!!! I put the door up a little & it runs out, as the door comes down the nasty little creep runs back in!!! It heads for the side of the shelving unit. I follow fast with my spray & spray the thing, catching in the corner near the empty fish tank. I start to think great I have it & it begins to run up the wall, I spray it again & it falls to the ground. It squirms & then starts up the wall again!!!! This time I spray so much you can't even see the thing. This time it falls behind a box & all is quiet.

I haven't seen it since & I scared to move anything for fear that it has a friend waiting for me!!

Scrummy Chocolate Desert!!

Once again I got this from my friend Dawn It's called 5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake!! It was so easy & quick to make & was just as easy & quick to eat it!!

This is the recipe.

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high). The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! (this can serve 2 {what? Share???}if you want to feel slightly more virtuous). And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

I also have pictures of what it looked like when it came out. I did take it out of the mug & put it in a dish, but didn't make too good a job of that, I think next time I will just eat it from the mug!! I am also next time going to replace the vanilla extract with Kahlua, now that sounds like something you definately don't want to share!!

Beautiful Kestrel.

We were getting ready to go out last night. I was just closing the blinds at the back when I saw a Kestrel sitting on the frame of our neighbors screen. I didn't want to open the door, as that would have frightened it away. Unfortunately this shot is through our netting as well. It looked such a beautiful majestic bird sitting there, I just had to get a photograph of it! If you click on the picture it should show it all.

The Cutest Blog on the Block!

I have always been a person who likes changing things, wether it be my hairstyle, the way I dress, nail polish or anything else that goes!!! So for me why shouldn't my blog be any different, but I wasn't sure how to go about it!! A year ago I had my blog updated by a wonderful lady called Shauna She made over my blog & I was thrilled, but like everything I now wanted a change. A few of my friends have been starting their blogs & Dawn mentioned about the Cutest Blog on the Bock. I took a look & WOW, what a choice of backgrounds!!

I know now that my background will be changing either at the feel of a whim, or because it is a holiday or just because I can!! Maybe this will be what I needed to get started in blogging again too!! Thank you Dawn & also to Cutest Blog on the Block, I am ready to get this started again!!!

Need to get back to blogging!

It seems forever since I last came here. I seemed to get bogged down over the holdiay season, just didn't come here & I should have! I have just been catching up on blogs & finding how much kids have grown since I was last on!!

I have been doing some more jewelry since I was last on. I am going to post pictures & tell you what they are!

I was asked to make pearl bracelets for 2 little girls ages 2 & 3. She told me the colors she would like & she was thrilled with them!

I then got a message from another friend. A friend of hers is getting married & wanted a necklace & earrings. I don't usually make earrings, but she asked so nicely, I didn't want to let them down. Again I was given the colors wanted & this was the result. She has seen the pictures & is so pleased with them!

Friday I got asked to make 2 eyeglass necklaces. I wa given the color scheme for them & this is the result.

Hopefully I will try to get back to blogging again & look forward to catching up with all the blogs I have missed!
